On Wednesday night, members of the Springfield City Council weighed in on drafting a new landlord registry ordinance following popular support for the proposal on election night.
Tuesday night’s ballot measure passed with just shy of 70% of Springfield voters in favor of it.
Ward 3 Alderman Roy Williams again advocated for the city to engage with both building managers and tenants while drafting a future ordinance for establishing a registry, but also suggested that any such measure wait until after the election next year before making a decision.
