America’s 250th birthday is almost here, and some shoppers are asking . . . where’s all the patriotic merch?
A lot of people online are saying big brands have plenty of World Cup promotions but haven’t done much to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday.
Specifically, anyone who remembers the Bicentennial back in 1976 says it felt impossible to escape. There were special products, decorations, collectibles, and even school supplies with patriotic designs everywhere.
But this year fans are saying the selection feels pretty limited.
There are a few exceptions: Coca-Cola has released limited-edition cans representing all 50 states . . . Cheerios has a birthday cake cereal . . . and Mountain Dew temporarily became “American Dew”.
But plenty of shoppers are still saying they expected a much bigger celebration for the country’s 250th birthday. (NY Post)
