When you go over to someone else’s house, are you on your best behavior? Or do you poke around, and secretly judge everything? Maybe, a little of both?
Here’s how a manners expert put it: “When someone says, ‘make yourself at home’ . . . they do not mean literally.” According to “Huff Post”, here are the rudest things you can do in someone else’s home:
1. Touching and moving things
2. Expecting a tour. If your guest wants to show you every room, they will.
3. Overstaying your welcome. If you look around and see a lot of yawning, it’s time to go.
4. Hiding a mess. Like if you accidentally spill a drink on their carpet.
5. Snooping
6. Bringing an uninvited plus-one
7. Waiting to share your dietary restrictions until you sit down to eat
8. Feeding their dog without asking them
9. Disrespecting their shoe rules
10. Showing up empty-handed.
