Other contested races included three seats on the Sangamon County Board won with at least 60 percent of the vote, including Rich King in District 7, Sheila Feipel in District 12 and Reginald Guyton in District 21.
Nearly 70 percent of those voting in an advisory referendum favored a landlord registry for the city of Springfield.
More than 79,000 ballots were cast in Sangamon County for a turnout of more than 56 percent.
