SMTD has finalized the acquisition of twenty-five acres of property at 350 W. North Street on the south side of Springfield for a future offstreet secondary hub facility and access road.
The new facility would feature improved shelter from the weather in the form of larger canopies, improved passenger information screens similar to the downtown transfer center bus bays, and possibly ticket vending machines.
SMTD is optimistic that the project can be completed in the next five years, but the exact timeline is undetermined.
