A brand new Metallica documentary is slated to hit theaters across North American as the band sets to hit the road for their M72 World Tour in 2025.
The film titled Metallica Saved My Life is directed by longtime Metallica colleague and Grammy-winning filmmaker Jonas Akerlund and covers the band’s positive impact on the lives of their gigantic fanbase.
While the film is not completed as of now – Metallica fans can watch a rough cut of the film at select locations across the US, showings that coincide with tour stops on the band’s M72 World Tour. Spoiler alert – no showings or concert dates are in the Central Illinois area as of this writing (4/10/25).
